Summary
Darren Page is a geotechnical specialist with nearly 20 years experience, the majority of which has been gained working on underground construction projects for the contractor, the owner/developer, in research and as a designer/consultant. He also has a wide range of experience in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology across a broad range of market sectors and is experienced working in multidisciplinary and multi-cultural project teams planning, designing and constructing major underground projects which have included the Channel Tunnel, Jubilee Line extension and Singapore’s Deep Tunnel Sewerage System.
Darren has been involved in two projects leading to the publication of CIRIA reports on the effect of tunnelling on buildings and on the Lambeth Group. He has also contributed to research on characterising Singapore’s soils. Darren has acted as an expert witness in the resolution of construction disputes arising from geotechnical issues and has experience of undertaking investigations due to geotechnical related construction failures and as an expert on behalf of major insurers and in the preparation and management of claims. His interests lie in the contractual aspects of the ground and related construction processes. Darren was previously based in Italy assisting an Italian tunnelling consultant in their overseas markets and has recently been advising on the impact of the development of a metro in the middle-east.
