Brief Resume
Dr Cook is an independent engineering geological consultant with twenty five years of proven experience in the field of applied geology, with particular reference to civil engineering road, dam-site, tunnelling and resource projects. He has extensive experience in the design, supervision, management and interpretation of engineering geological projects in the UK, Middle East, Africa, SE Asia and Australia. He has wide practical knowledge of the application of geological and engineering geological techniques, from basic field mapping to sophisticated geotechnical testing. He has considerable experience of in: the geotechnics of tropically weathered soil-rock masses, earthwork and slope design, alignment studies, and the proving and utilisation of construction material sources. He was responsible for the offshore ground investigations for the Channel Tunnel and supplied expert evidence to British Parliamentary Select Committee on the project.
