- Industry lecturer, Imperial College (from 1996) on Health, Safety and Risk Management Course. Lecturer on MSc Construction health and safety management ay Liverpool John Moores University, and Lecturer on MSc Underground Space Technology at International Institute for Infrastructural, Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering, Delft, The Netherlands.
- Member, International Tunnelling Association Health and Safety in Works Working Group, and British Standards Committee for BS 6164- Safety in tunnelling (new edition out later in 2001);
- For 12 years invited lecturer on Safety in tunnelling courses run by the British Tunnelling Society, London. Regular lecturer at health and safety meetings of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
- Over 50 internationally published papers and articles on construction industry health and safety matters, including 24 specifically on tunnelling and underground construction issues.
- Presently writing book for Thomas Telford Publishing in health and safety issues in tunnelling.
